Improve your climbing technique
Our Improvers Rock Climbing course runs on the Southern Sandstone crags of Sussex and Kent. Designed to improve climbing ability this course looks at increasing climbing knowledge and technique.
It is the perfect progression for people who have completed an Introduction to Climbing Course, or for those with experience climbing indoors who want to try their hand at outdoor climbing for the first time.
For people with indoor climbing experience, it’s a brilliant way to transfer those skills to an outside setting. You’ll learn about the new and exciting challenges that outdoor climbing brings such as facing the elements and searching for natural holds in the rock instead of multi-coloured holds on an artificial climbing wall!
We’ll spend the day climbing some great and challenging routes on Southern Sandstone, looking at guidebooks and grading to help you to choose climbs that are suited to your ability level.
You’ll be given plenty of guidance for improving climbing such as climbing technique, rope management skills e.g. using a range of belay devices, training techniques, injury avoidance and recommended warm-up and cool down ideas.
People who attend this course will need basic climbing skills and will need to know how to belay.
You’ll be sure to leave the rocks with a new wealth of climbing knowledge and be inspired to keep climbing and climbing hard
